Lt. Gen. Leonard Kosinski joins Samuel Group DC office

Today, retired United States Air Force Lt Gen. Leonard J. Kosinski joins Samuel Group as Senior Defense Associate at the Samuel Group D.C. office in Washington.

General Kosinski brings exceptional leadership and strategic expertise to our U.S. and international clients within the defense and national security sectors, offering invaluable insights about the United States Department of Defense. His extensive professional network and deep understanding of defense logistics make him a vital asset in providing strategic counsel to companies operating in defense, aerospace, space, maritime and technologies industries.

General Kosinski's distinguished military career began in 1993 after graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research. Over three decades, he has held key operational roles, including as a pilot of the KC-135 Stratotanker, C-5 Galaxy, and C-17 Globemaster III, accumulating over 3,300 flight hours.

His academic credentials include multiple advanced degrees including a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering, an MBA focused on International Corporate Strategy, and a Master of Arts in International Relations from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. He has also earned distinguished honors at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center and military education programs, such as Air War College, where he completed an elite Defense Fellowship.

General Kosinski's leadership extends to numerous critical positions, including Director for Logistics on the Joint Staff at the Pentagon and Deputy Commander of the Fifth Air Force in Japan. His contributions to global military operations and U.S.-Japan relations have earned him prestigious accolades such as the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, the Defense Superior Service Medal, and Japan's Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon and speaks fluent Japanese.
